Aspen Dental settles deceptive practices lawsuit

A new settlement could put smiles on the faces of some patients at one of Indiana's largest dental service providers.
Aspen Dental reached a deal to change some of its practices and give refunds to customers.
Hoosiers Impacted, who accused Aspen Dental of being deceptive in an effort to get people to sign up for their services, will receive $15,000 from the business.
As part of the deal, Aspen Dental can't advertise free services that aren't free. The company must make clear the terms and limits of what they offer. They must also train employees to do a better job with credit agreements for those who want to make payments.
Aspen Dental released a statement Thursday saying they fully cooperated with the Attorney General's office, but disagreed with its conclusions.
If you're one of the people affected by the decision, the state will reach out to you toward the end of the year.
