The team dentist for the Tennessee Titans partnered with non-profit organization Team Smile Tuesday to provide dental care to hundreds of Metro students.
More than 100 dental professionals were on hand at Nissan Stadium to offer dental treatment to over 350 children.
Titans’ dentist Dr. Christy McPherson-Lewis, of BiTE Denistry has been with the team since they arrived in Nashville in 1997. This was the second year she has been part of the free cleaning day.
“If we can help kids that don’t get the care they need, if we can expose them in a positive, fun matter, then that’s where we want to do,” said McPherson-Lewis.
TeamSmile is an advocacy group that partners oral health professionals with professional athletic organizations to provide dental care to those in need.
Titans cheerleaders and players made appearances throughout the event, which was held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Beside meeting Titans players, the kids were treated to a dance party after they finished their treatments.
