Northern Nevada Dental Health Programs and local dentists are providing pro-bono treatment to veterans, thanks to the Adopt-a-Vet Dental Program.
Thousands of low-income veterans suffer from oral health issues but cannot afford necessary treatment, according to the NNDHP.
The Adopt-a-Vet program has paired over 650 low-income veterans with over 115 volunteer dentists for pro-bono treatment.
To expedite treatment, the NNDHP said it partnered with Community Health Alliance and two Reno dentists to treat veterans three days a week at the Wells Avenue Dental Center, located at 1055 S. Wells Ave., until the wait list is diminished.
The program is always looking for more providers to participate.
