Free dental care helping uninsured smile

The dental team at Beacon Dental Center in Gaylord will host its eighth day of free dentistry Saturday.
The free dental day will begin with patient registration at 7 a.m. on a first-come first-serve basis. The line is expected to form early, possibly the night before with people camping outside the building for the free services.
Dental work including fillings, extractions and cleanings will take place throughout the day. Patients do not need to provide any information regarding income or financial need to receive the services.
"It all comes down to wanting to provide something greater to our community," Dr. Michael Sullivan says. "This day is, without a doubt, one of our favorite and most memorial days in the office every year."
Since the first event in December 2011, more than $250,000 of free dental care has been donated with treatment performed on more than 300 patients.

The Optimet DS 6000 Scanner uses patented proprietary conoscopic holographic technology to generate highly accurate and consistent scans. The DSi 6000 Impression & Model Scanner overcomes the limitation of other scanners by accurately scanning impressions and models where other scanners have difficulty.
