Stephen Casey, Chief Executive Officer Of California Dental Network, Announces Retirement

Casey is a 40-year veteran of the health care insurance industry. He is also a respected expert on the Knox-Keene Health Care Service Plan Act and its implications on health maintenance organization (HMO) regulations, having previously served as a health plan executive and California regulator. In 1998, Casey co-founded California Dental Network and has served as the company's CEO for 17 years.
Brian Watts, current director of sales at DentaQuest, has been named as Casey's successor. Watts has more than 30 years of experience in the insurance industry and is a recognized dental expert.
"Brian will bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to his leadership of California Dental Network," said Stephen R. Casey, outgoing CEO of California Dental Network. "Brian's innovative thinking and hands-on approach to problem solving will help position California Dental Network as a leader in the growingly complex health care marketplace. I step away confident in Brian's vision for the future of this organization and its ongoing success."
Prior to joining DentaQuest, Watts served in various executive positions with National Dental Health, United Dental Care and most recently, First Dental as executive vice president of sales.
While the transition is effective immediately, Casey will continue to serve in a consultative role throughout 2016.
"As we look to a future where health care no longer operates in silos but rather a truly integrated system, Brian's leadership and Stephen's counsel will ensure that California Dental Network is well positioned to grow and enter new markets," said Steve Pollock, president and chief executive officer of DentaQuest.
