Vanessa Valentine was inspired to join the U.S. Air Force right after 9/11.
“I personally wanted to do something, whatever small contribution I could do,” the 38-year-old said.
That small contribution was to join the Air Force, become a staff sergeant and volunteer to become a combat photographer.
“You’re right there embedded in with infantry units and other ground fighting forces,” she said.
It’s a job not easily forgotten.
“I did experience close calls,” she said.
Now Valentine is in a business with her husband Bryan. But she doesn’t have dental insurance. She hasn’t seen a dentist for a couple of years. Until now.
Southbridge Dentistry in Littleton is offering free dental care for veterans that will be performed on Veteran’s Day.
Cleanings, crowns, fillings, extractions and root canals are offered. More than $60,000 worth of work will be done for free. All to say thank you.
“If there’s people like that with that dedication taking care of us and our country and the way we live, we need to do something to take care of the veterans when they come home,” dentist Stephen Barker said.
There are a lot of ways to show appreciation to a vet. At Southbridge Dentistry in Littleton, it’s smile and say thank you.
