Health and Dental Care for Kids merges into BJK People’s Health Centers

Health and Dental Care for Kids is now part of the services of Betty Jean Kerr People’s Health Centers.
Leaders from both organizations signed the agreement Monday morning, November 2 at PHC headquarters in St. Louis on Delmar. The merger of the pediatric facility makes a fourth site for PHC.
“People’s Health Centers has never grown for the sake of growth; we’ve grown because we feel that our services are the services the community deserves; we do it in a special way – with dignity and respect,” Dwayne Butler, president and CEO at Peoples, said. “And we feel that when we extend our reach into the community, we are extending the excellence that our community needs.”
Cozy Marks, Jr. who serves as chairman of the board of directors for both organizations, said the merger keeps with the mission of serving the underserved and uninsured. “I just believe that this is a golden opportunity.”
The merger means an additional 10,000 children will benefit from People’s comprehensive services.

Health and Dental Care for Kids is located at 4055 Lindell Blvd. in midtown. Butler said facility will keep its name and the merger of two strong organizations will be of mutual benefit for both entities as well as its patients.
