A health program of the National Association of Counties offers all Sandoval County residents discount programs for health services, dental care and prescription medication.
County commissioners voted in May to join the NACo Live Healthy program, approving a deal between the county, NACo and CVS/Caremark.
The program offers all residents three options: a prescription discount card program, a NACo Live Healthy Dental Discount program and a NACo Live Healthy Health program. The programs are not health insurance, are available to all county residents and have no age, income or insurance requirements.
The free prescription discount card program offers residents an average 24 percent discount off the retail price of prescription medicine that is not covered by insurance, according to a county news release. The program is available to all county residents and requires no enrollment fees. The discount card can be used by the entire family at participating CVS/Caremark locations. A list of participating locations can be found at nacorx.org.
Residents interested in enrolling can register and download their card at nacorx.org, or by calling 877-321-2652. The county has a limited number of cards available at the county administrative offices, Building D, 1500 Idalia Road, in Bernalillo.
The dental discount program offers residents 15 to 50 percent off dental check-ups, cleanings, fillings and root canals, according to the news release.
The health discount program offers residents 15 to 70 percent off the cost of vision services, hearing aids, diabetes supplies and prepaid laboratory tests.
There is a monthly fee of $6.95 per month for individuals and $8.95 for families, as well as an annual fee of $69 for individuals and $79 for families, for both programs.
The discount rates only apply to services by dentists and medical providers who are participating in the county program.
Residents can enroll for either dental or health discount programs at nacohealth.org or by calling 877-573-2395.
