Jackson Dental holds open house

People filed into Jackson Dental Thursday, Dec. 3, for a customer appreciation and retirement party for Dr. David Rempel, a combination of holiday celebration and wishing their friend, dentist and colleague well.
Rempel has worked with Jackson Dental for 11 years and will still work in Rapid City, where he has made the commute to work from.
Rempel has lived in Rapid City since 1994. He is a graduate of Creighton University-Omaha, Nebraska, with a special interest in removable prosthodontics.
He is also a member of the American Dental Association, South Dakota Dental Association and Black Hills Dental Association.
"I want to thank John and Chris," Rempel said at the retirement party. "It's been a great place to work, and I've been blessed with good help and a great place to practice dentistry."
Chris Jackson said the night was bittersweet.
"We're really fortunate and thankful," he said. "It's fun to talk with (Rempel), and he provides a different sense of humor and perspective. He will be missed."
Rempel also expressed an appreciation of Belle Fourche, noting the two practices in Belle Fourche and Rapid City was just too much.

"It's a great town," he said. "I love this town."
Jackson Dental's last celebration was about five to six years ago, Chris said, so having a combination get-together was the perfect celebration.
"We're lucky to be in an awesome community," he said.
