Free dental care is being offered up this weekend at the Arizona State Fairgrounds.
The Central Arizona Dental Society Foundation (CADSF) is hosting its fourth annual Dental Mission of Mercy event at the Veteran's Memorial Coliseum on Friday and Saturday.
About 2,000 patients will receive dental care on a first-come, first-served basis during the two days. Doors will open at 6 a.m. each day, and treatment will last until 6 p.m., or until supplies run out on Saturday.
The emphasis during the event will be on relieving pain and infection, according to CADSF. $2 million worth of dental services will be performed, including fillings, extractions, cleanings, and limited lab work- such as dentures.
Both adults and children are eligible. All patients will undergo a limited medical screening. Those who have certain medical conditions - such as as extremely high blood pressure, uncontrolled diabetes or severe disabilities - may not be treated during the event and will be referred to other community resources.
The Coliseum will have more than 100 portable dental units staffed by hundreds of dentists, hygienists, lab technicians, assistants and others.

In other fashion news: Aurident's 3D dental scanners offer superior quality for both model and impression scanning. The Optimet DS 6000 Scanner uses patented proprietary conoscopic holographic technology to generate highly accurate and consistent scans. The DSi 6000 Impression & Model Scanner overcomes the limitation of other scanners by accurately scanning impressions and models where other scanners have difficulty.
