Felt Family Dentistry has added digital impressions and a CAD CAM milling machine to one of their northern Utah offices. The new technology investment allows the Roy dentist office to offer same-day crowns to patients.
CAD CAM dental machines are commercial technologies that produce dental prosthetics (crowns). The in-house machine offers quick, quiet operation with a clean, small physical footprint.
Dr. Felt ccomments on the new dental equipment. “Our new CAD CAM machine is amazingly convenient, allowing us to provide better service to our patients. This technology allows us to decrease the number of visits patients commonly make to our office while also maximizing the quality of their visits. As our impressions can be taken digitally, gooey impression material is no longer required for accurate tooth impressions. We are able to design our crowns chairside, then mill a crown right in front of our patients in just over 5 minutes.”
While CAD CAM machines are a tremendous investment, Felt Family Dentistry strives to stay ahead in the dental field by staying current with technology. Not only are fast crowns now available at their Roy office, Felt Family Dentistry plans on expanding this technology into their Layton dentist office within the next few months.
