WEST AKRON — Dentist Dr. Grant Turner offers a variety of dental services at 585 White Pond Drive, Suite B.
Turner, who is a graduate of Copley High School, said his staff, which includes a dental assistant, two registered dental hygienists and another employee overseeing front desk duties and scheduling, offers quality dental care for the whole family in a warm, caring and friendly environment.
Dental care available at the office includes a range of family services: general and restorative dentistry, treatment of gum disease, pediatric dentistry, TMJ/TMD treatment, cosmetic dentistry and teeth whitening.
Turner said getting to know his patients is an important focus of his services.
“I like to take the time to get to know people and their families and give them time to get to know me and my staff to make them comfortable,” said Turner. “We want to know what their needs are and to develop trust and a relationship.”
He added his staff “strives to make the office heart-warming to make it more welcoming and to reduce the anxiety some patients feel when visiting a dentist’s office.”
Turner said services for new patients begin with a review of their medical history and learning about any medical emergencies or specific dental issues. Also, dental X-rays are taken to help determine each patient’s needs.
Turner said he then discusses the findings with each patient to develop an individualized treatment plan and answer any questions the patient may have. The next visit includes a cleaning and examination to check for cavities, signs of decay or gum disease.
“We can treat everyone in the family, from young patients making their first visit to the dentist to those requiring dentures ,” said Turner. “We use behavioral management practices when we work with young children, using the ‘tell, show and do’ method to teach them good basic dental hygiene.”
Turner said he can make referrals for orthodontic or endodontic work and other special needs.
Turner earned an undergraduate degree from Miami University and his dental degree from the University of Michigan. He said he stays current through continuing education on advanced dentistry to be able to offer better, long lasting and more comfortable treatment options for patients.
Office hours are Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Wednesdays and every other Friday from 8 a.m. to noon.
